I’ve always found this dish convenient to cook, for I do not have to worry about the stew. Any leftover sauce will do just fine. It is a satisfying and nutritious meal when served with yogurt, and fresh greens and herbs. Moreover, it is the ideal dish for hot summer days. Though traditionally it is cooked with lamb shanks, chicken may be substituted, but you will need to adjust cooking time accordingly.
