Method

Cornstarch slurry to thicken, if desired.

  • In a medium-sized heavy saucepan, bring all ingredients to a boil, reduce heat, and then simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Strain through fine sieve.
  • Return the sieved mixture to a clean, medium-sized heavy saucepan and reduce, over medium heat, to a slightly thickened consistency.
  • Alternatively, add the c
