Black sesame seeds 120 g, roasted and finely ground
Sugar 180 g
Water chestnut flour 75 g
Water 360 ml


  • Combine ingredients to form a batter.
  • Set a shallow, oiled plate or tray over rapidly boiling water.
  • Pour a ladle of batter on plate or tray and spread evenly. When batter sets, remove plate or tray from heat. Roll up tightly using a dough scraper. Continue to make more rolls until batter is used up. This recipe makes about 10 rolls, depending on the size of each roll.
  • Chill sesame rolls before serving.
