If you want a rich, elevated butter that has a little bit of a nutty flavor, you definitely have to try browned butter. Think about eating a regular cashew and then eating a honey-roasted cashew. That’s what it’s like.

Method

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter while stirring continuously. You want those milk solids to brown, not burn. After about 4 to 5 minutes, once the butter is browned to a golden croissant-like hue, pour it into an airtight container and scoop off any foam.
