The very first fancy dish I remember pulling off was plain Saltine white crackers topped with tuna with mayo and relish, and melted cheese on top. I would put it under the broiler and serve as an hors d’oeuvre. I was watching a lot of Food Network. My dad had made some tuna fish, and I was focused on presentation and plating. Since then, tuna has been a staple. This tuna fish is a more elevated version, of course. The baguette replaces the cracker, and the tuna itself has a lot more flavor.
