I made these in a flush of excited inspiration with the maple extract I’d bought at the super-deli Dean & Deluca in New York, but since exotic flavourings – and for us, I think this counts as exotic – are more and more available over here, I thought I would include the recipe.

  • 250 g unsalted butter, softened

Method

Preheat the oven to 170°C/gas mark 3.
