Ideal for sipping after a meal, fennel helps soothe upset tummies and prevent fermentation in digestion. Its diuretic effects also help to flush out impurities. It has anti-inflammatory and carminative properties, as well as a sweet, liquorice flavour.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp dried fennel seeds
  • 250 ml (1 cup) boiling water boiling water

Method

  • Put the fennel seeds into a tea pot or cup with the boiling water. Make sure you do not boil the seeds as this destroys most of the nutrients.
  • Cover, allow to steep for up to 10 minutes and enjoy.
