The aisles in our grocery stores are lined with a multitude of rice options but in Ayurveda, basmati is the golden grain, and believe it or not white basmati is considered the most Sattvic. Not only is it the easiest to digest and therefore delivers the best nutrition, it also has a much higher GI than other white rice.

The bran layer on brown rice has more nutrients but also contains phyto-nutrients, which can be troublesome for mineral absorption as well as tougher to digest. Enjo
