Rich and creamy, this is the ultimate in vanilla ice cream. Definitely not suitable for weight-watchers ... made for hedonists only!

Ingredients

  • 225 ml/1 cup whole milk
  • 600 ml/1 pint

Method

  1. Put the milk and cream in a saucepan, scrape in the vanilla seeds and add the pod and heat very gently until hot (or until bubbles start to form around the edge). Do not allow to boil though. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool a little.
