  • About

Though it has turned into a bit of a tourist trap, La Bodeguita del Medio is worth at least one visit. It was here that Ernest Hemingway stopped in each day he was in Havana to drink a mojito. This is the famous bar’s official recipe.

Ingredients

  • teaspoons sugar
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 2 fresh mint sprigs

Method

Put the sugar and lime juice in a highball glass. Add one mint sprig and use the back of a stirring spoon to crush it into the sugar and lime juice. Add the rum and ice. Fill the glass with soda water. Stir and serve, garnished with the remaining sprig of mint.
