Celeriac is very versatile but, unfortunately, not used a lot in the home. It is simple to cook, purées very well and makes a perfect first solids option or accompaniment to main meals.
Cover the celeriac and apple with cold water, bring to the boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until tender. Purée in a blender, then strain through a sieve for very young babies.
