This simple creation is not only comforting on the coldest of days and nights at home but also has medicinal benefits to cure all that ails you even on the finest day of health! Made with or without alcohol, it should leave you feeling invigorated and might even lessen inflammation, too!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced, or a few

Method

In a small saucepan, combine the water, ginger, turmeric, and cloves, and bring to a simmer over medium-low heat for about 20 minutes. Remove from the heat. If continuing right away, strain the water and discard the spices. For a supercharged version, let cool, then transfer to an airtight container, refrigerate overnight, and strain the next day before continuing.
