Cue autumnal tones, plaid shirts, and crunchy dying leaves! According to Wikipedia, buttered rum was thought to be a nutritious beverage that strengthened the body during the colder months. This is great news, and it’s honestly how I feel about adding butter to anything. Remember, butter makes it better!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz water
  • 2 teaspoons loose Earl Grey tea, or 2 Earl Grey te

Method

In a saucepan, boil the water. Add the tea and brew very strong. Remove from the heat and stir in the rum, orgeat syrup (if using), and vanilla.

Divide the hot tea mixture between 2 teacups. Finish each cup with half each of the butter, cloves, and allspice, and a small drizzle of maple syru
