Melt half the butter in a saucepan and sauté the onion in it until soft. Add the peppers and garlic and season to taste with salt and pepper. Add the parsley, tomatoes, tomato purée, Tabasco, basil and capers. Cover and cook for 15 minutes, then remove the lid and cook for another 5 minutes.
