This is chilli cooked with no added liquid. Unfortunately, the quantities would have fed the inmates of the Caldwell County Jail for months - if you fancy trying it, you’ll have to do some long division.

Cook in a pan roughly the size of a dustbin, covered with a lid, over a medium heat for about 1 hour, stirring regularly.
