It looks like frog eggs, but don’t be put off! This is a common hawker dish in Malaysia. Sago or tapioca is boiled up and served with fresh fruits. In Southern Australia, which has a temperate climate, we can use raspberries or kiwi fruit in place of tropical fruits if they are not available. We can also add the traditional mung beans to give it a nutty flavour. Condensed milk can be substituted for palm sugar, but the palm sugar is the best choice as it has flavour as well as sweetness.
