There was a time when families were large, with several generations living together, and many hungry children to feed. Home cooks would work all day to produce appetizers, soups, main dishes, desserts and sweets. From that time comes this recipe, with a name that describes the experience of taking a spoonful of it - bienmesabe means “it tastes good to me,” and this really does taste good. The egg yolks and nuts give it a luxurious richness, ideal for a luxurious dinner party dessert.
