  • About

Green tomatoes and Granny Smith apples combine for a luscious chutney that is as at home with Indian meals as it is with a veggie burger, vegan meatloaf, or roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 5 large green tomatoes, peeled (see Note), seeded, and chopped
  • 2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 2

Method

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on High until the chutney becomes jam-like, about 4 hours.
  2. Remove the lid, then taste and adjust the seasonings, if needed. Continue to cook, uncovered, until any liquid is evaporated and the chutney thickens, about 30 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasonings, if needed. Turn off the slow cooker
