Winter Tomato Sauce

Tomatoes are a seasonal ingredient in most parts of the United States. If they aren’t seasonal where you are, then you live in southern California and are lucky! For the rest of us, I want to give a simple tomato sauce for winter, when canned whole peeled tomatoes should be used. If making this to use for Bolognese Sauce, double this recipe and refrigerate or freeze what you don’t use.
