A variation on ka’ik that is slightly easier to make, and no less delicious. They freeze well, too.
Mix together the flour, anise seeds, nutmeg, cinnamon, yeast, baking powder, baking soda, and mahlab. Stir in the water and olive oil. Add the nigella seeds and sesame seeds and knead well. Form the dough into a ball and transfer it to an oiled bowl. Cover, and allow the dough to rise for about 1 hour.
