Most popular during the holy month of Ramadan, karkaday has a tart and fruity flavor that does not have to be heavily sweetened to be enjoyed. It is also a popular remedy for reducing blood pressure. For a colorful variation, add ice and some mint leaves to the serving glass, or one tablespoon of rosewater, crushed ice, and pistachios.
