  • About

Laila had this addictively refreshing juice in the fall of 2019 at the home of a lovely woman named Afaf in Jabaliya. The juice has delicious bits of pulp, but it can also be strained. Fresh squeezed pomegranate juice is also often mixed with orange juice, a street-stall classic.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pomegranates
  • 1 cup shaved ice
  • A few mint sprigs

Method

Wash the pomegranates and slice in half. Using a handheld citrus reamer or an electric juicer twist the pomegranates to extract the juice and pulp.

Distribute the shaved ice and mint into small glasses, and pour the freshly squeezed juice on top.
