- 1 fresh sausage (about 2 pounds), such as fresh (unsmoked) kielbasa, skin pierced with the point of a paring knife in several places

Method
- Simmer the sausage in water to cover in a saucepan until tender and cooked through, about 45 minutes (the timing can vary).
- Remove the sausage with tongs to a cutting surface. Slice the sausage and serve hot on a bed of Lentils Vinaigrette.
