This very old English dessert I first had in an Irish nursing home, where I was luxuriously recovering from a skirmish with a headstrong Irish stallion. All the food was wonderfully and delicately prepared, served on different sets of porcelain at each of my four daily meals. Ireland has many excellent restaurants with a number of Swiss or French-trained chef’s.
