1 lb. of the prepared laver is put into a heavy aluminium or nickel stewpan with 3 oz. of fresh butter and stirred over a quick heat with a wooden fork, spoon or spatula. A little lemon juice may be squeezed into it. When Seville oranges are obtainable the juice of one is delicious with it; try also tangerine. It must be served boiling hot over a spirit lamp or hot-water dish. A chafing-dish is excellent for the purpose as it provides both.
