Combine diced Gruyère cheese and ham in large bowl. Prepare salad dressing; pour over cheese and ham; toss well. Allow to marinate in refrigerator for 1 hour.
Just before serving, place washed and dried lettuce leaves in the bottom of salad bowl. Pile diced cheese and ham in the centre. Sprinkle with finely-chopped parsley or fresh herbs. Serve with additional salad dressing.
