  • About

The delicate interplay of fruity and salty flavors makes this sauce the perfect accompaniment to almost any type of grilled meat, especially lamb, like the Sesame-Ginger Leg of Lamb, or seafood. The Asian pear adds a moist, sweet crunch.

Ingredients

  • cup soy sauce
  • cup sake, Chinese rice wine, or dry sherry

Method

Place the soy sauce, sake, and sugar in a nonreactive mixing bowl and stir until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the pear, scallions, sesame seeds, and pepper. Divide the sauce among small bowls for dipping.
