PØLSE I LOMPE (PRONOUNCED PULSE-UH EE LOMPER OR LOOMPER; TRANSLATES AS “sausage in lompe”) is Norway’s take on the hot dog. Like its Scandinavian neighbor, Norway has an obsession with the hot dog, and the two share a lot of condiments and toppings. However, Norwegian hot dogs are served in lompe, a flour- or potato-based mat bread, instead of a typical hot dog bun.
