Boerewors (pronounced BUR-ra-vorz; Afrikaans for “farmer’s sausage”) is a fatty, spicy beef-and-pork concoction served in a lightly grilled bun with a mound of sautéed onions, and a chunky, spicy, ketchup-like tomato sauce on the side.
