Za’atar is a Middle Eastern spice blend made from ground spices, herbs, and sesame seeds. It is often used in dips and marinades, but is also great on fish, grilled meats, and roasted vegetables. It is available at most well-stocked markets, but also quite easy to make. The ingredients and proportions of the spice blend can vary, as individual cooks create their own signature flavors.
