This sandwich may have been my first introduction to seaweed aside from nori-wrapped sushi. Look for whole leaf dulse, which tastes like bacon. You may not need to use bacon again for your BLT! This is also very cool done open face.
In a skillet, heat a drizzle of sesame oil over medium heat. Fry the dulse, pressing down with a metal spatula and turning frequently until crisp and yellow-green, about 1 minute. Using tongs, transfer to paper towels to drain, pat dry, and let cool to a deep red color.
Spread the mayo on the toasted bread and top with the lettuce, crispy dulse, tomato slices, and avocado slices. Eat.</
