  • About

A really nice, solid cake recipe. It’s uncertain whether Mrs Crocombe was passed this by one of her employers who got it directly from Lord Berners, or whether she got it from his cook. The Lord Berners involved was probably the 11th baron, Henry William Wilson, whose country seat was in Leicestershire, and who was president of the Royal Agricultural Society. Given Lord Braybrooke’s interest in the Audley End herd of pedigree Jersey
