Many cuisines have a flourless chocolate cake in their repertoire and Italy is no exception. A slight variation here is the addition of rum. Also, many recipes require baking in a water bath, which is a somewhat cumbersome procedure. This recipe makes it possible to bake the cake without putting it in water. It is served chilled, and although quite delicious by itself, this cake is fantastic with whipped cream or a sauce made of berries puréed with sugar (or both).
