Adapted from a recipe from the Neal’s book Southern Cooking.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon

Method

Mix flour, salt and sugar. Rub in the fat. Add water to form a dough that will just hold together. Wrap in clingfilm and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Roll thinly on floured board and line an 11in flan tin. Prick all over with a fork and bake blind for 10-15 minutes at the bottom of an oven set t
