Guava grows in plenty in certain parts of India. Its slices can be preserved but they taste well only if they are freshly gathered. A jelly prepared from guavas however can be kept for some time without deterioration.

Ingredients

  • lbs (680 g) guavas (amrud)

Method

Wash, wipe and slice the ripe guavas. Simmer in pt (720 mils) water until soft and of light pink colour (takes about 3 hours). Strain as described below.
