This creamy spread perfectly complements a toasted bagel, flatbread, or crackers for a quick lunch. We usually use leftover, canned, or jarred smoked salmon for this recipe. Add fresh dill, pickles or capers if you like an extra tangy, fresh flavour.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 6 oz canned or 1 cup smoked salmon, cho

Method

Beat the cream cheese in a medium-size bowl with an electric mixer or by hand with a fork until smooth.

Mix in the salmon, onion, garlic, lemon juice, black pepper, and cayenne to taste until well combined.

Serve on your favourite toasted bread, bagel, flatbread or crackers and top with fresh herbs.
