The cultivation of arugula dates to Roman times, and in Italy, this aromatic green is liberally added to many dishes beyond salad. Here, it provides a peppery kick to a meat-laden pizza. Drizzle the pizza with olive oil before serving for another layer of flavor.

  1. Make the dough.
  2. Make the topping: Season tomatoes with salt and pepper and set aside.
  3. Heat a 10″ skillet over medium-high. Add sausage and cook, breaking up meat into small pieces, until browned, 7–8 minutes; set aside.
  4. Place a pizza stone in oven and heat to 425°F
