Stewed fruit is a delightful addition to hot cereal or a Sweet Breakfast Bowl. It also makes a simple but delicious dessert, especially when topped with a little Cashew-Pear Cream, cinnamon, and Wholly Granola or chopped walnuts.

Method

Quarter the apricots and plums and dice or cube larger stone fruits. Put the fruit and water in a medium saucepan. Cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruit it is soft, 30–45 minutes. Let cool. Stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator, Stewed Fruit will keep for 5 days.
