Korean crushed sesame seeds are available in 8-ounce (225-g) plastic jars from Korean grocers and may contain salt. If you can’t find Korean crushed sesame seeds, we recommend you make your own with your stash of extra-roasted sesame seeds.
Place the sesame seeds into the bowl of a food processor and pulse 6 to 8 times until the seeds are crushed but not made into a paste. Or use a mortar and pestle to crush the seeds by hand. Store the seeds in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 months.
