  • About

With its bold infusion of coffee, this spirited Southern staple is as captivating as it is comforting. With each pour, I relive hearty breakfasts with the aroma of coffee mingled with the scent of cured ham. Enjoy the richness of this gravy over ham or biscuits (or both) and experience a true Southern wake-up call.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup (60 ml) cooked ham drippings
  • 1 cup (240

Method

  1. Pour the ham drippings into a medium skillet and place it over medium heat.
  2. Slowly pour in the coffee and water and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  3. Taste and season the gravy with salt, as needed, and serve hot.
  4. Refrigerate the gravy in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
