Another of the dishes of my youth, this is as easy to make as it is calorific. Despite a hatred of all those anti-fat finger-waggers, this certainly verges on the, well, indulgent. You could put a pat of butter onto a Dan Brown book and it would taste good. But this is a fine winter dish, and goes wonderfully with most things.
