I love pulling this amazingly rich and outrageously delicious dish out of the oven right when friends arrive for brunch. It’s a slam dunk.
In a frying pan, sauté the sausages over medium heat until golden brown on all sides, 5–6 minutes for fully cooked sausages, 12–15 minutes for uncooked sausages. Transfer to a cutting board. Let the sausages cool, then cut into slices ½ inch (12 mm) thick.
