Sautéed Shiitake Mushrooms


This simple, effortless dish is a delicious accompaniment to other shojin dishes or even plain rice. Guests are usually amazed when they learn how easy this recipe is.



Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Add mushrooms and stir fry both sides for 2 minutes. Then add sake and soy sauce and continue to fry for another 30 seconds.

Divide into 4 equal portions and serve.
