  • 700 g/1 lb 9 oz boneless beef chuck or other stewing beef, cut into large chunks

Method

Put the beef, barbecue sauce and dill pickle in the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper, then stir the ingredients together.

Cover the cooker with the lid and cook on LOW for 10 hours. Remove and discard the dill pickle quarters. Use a slotted spoon to remove the beef from the cooker, leaving behind as much sauce as possible. Leave the beef to rest for 5 minutes. Recover the coo
