  • 150 ml/5 fl oz/scant cup apple juice

Method

Put the apple juice, brown sugar and honey in the slow cooker. Stir until the sugar and honey dissolve, then add the cinnamon stick, cloves and vanilla pod.

Cover the cooker with the lid and cook on HIGH for 45 minutes. Add the figs, re-cover and cook for a further 30 minutes until they are soft but holding their shape. Serve the figs hot with scoops of ice cream.
