Walnuts grow in abundance in many regions of Macedonia. Growing up, we always kept a big bucket of whole walnuts in their shells in a dark cupboard. My mother would make this recipe in a pinch if she needed something to offer to unexpected guests. We usually serve it with freshly made Pita Na Skara (Grilled Flatbread). This dish is also a great way to use up day-old bread.
