This is the simplest condiment on the Vietnamese table: an equal parts combination of salt and pepper, plus a sprinkle of MSG and the juice of a lime (or some calamansi, if you have access to this tiny lime). It can be used as a dip for a variety of proteins ranging from beef, like our Shaking Beef, and seafood, like our Grilled Razor Clams.
