THE RECIPE Blueberry scones are one of my favorite pastries to pick up at any of the dozen bakeries I frequent around town. The sweet, dense dough dotted with juicy blueberries just can’t be beat. They are also one of the easiest pastries to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Scone Dough, prepared as at left
  • 6 ounces fresh blueberries

Method

  1. Follow the instructions for mixing and shaping scone dough beginning, gently stirring in blueberries with dry ingredients with a wooden spoon.
  2. Heat butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it begins to turn light brown and has a nutty aroma. Brush brown butter over scones and sprinkle with brown
