If you have an ice cream machine, this is the recipe for you. If you don’t, either buy one or skip ahead to the next recipe — it is the freezer aisle for you mon cherie.
In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar with an electric whisk, until they are light and fluffy and white.
Heat the milk and cream (and vanilla, if you are using it) in a decent sized saucepan.
