Ingredients: 1 measure brandy, or whisky; juice and zest of 1 orange; 25 g chopped pitted dates; 3 eggs; 180 g sugar; 125 g butter; 50 g plain flour; 50 g cocoa; 100 g hazelnuts and walnuts, roughly chopped; 125 g melted dark chocolate

Method

Pre-heat the oven to 160°C/gas mark 3.
